神奈川県生まれ。 幼少より日本の伝統芸能全般を学ぶ。書は三歳よりはじめ、各流派に師事する。ひとつの流派、芸能にとらわれず、総合的に日本の美を見つめる視点を育てる。昭和女子大学日本文学科卒業

1990 デュールアートワークス株式会社を設立。自らの作品制作を中心とした「和」コーディネート・ ものづくりの企画プロデュースを行う。
1995 日本雅藝倶楽部を設立。会員制の「塾」で日本の美を伝える。
1998 にっぽんや工房開設。日本の素材、職人の技を再構築。

Rieko Kawabe

President of Nihon Miyabigoto Club, Nippon-ya Kobo.
Calligrapher (artist name: Ko-o, Wasen, Shunko)

Born in Kanagawa prefecture. Has been studying Japanese traditional
performing arts since childhood. Starting calligraphy at the
age of 3, she studied in the different schools of calligraphy.
Not restricting herself to a school or a specific performing
art, she cultivates a viewpoint that looks at Japanese beauty
in its wholeness. Graduated from the Department of Letters of
Showa Women’s University.

1990 Establishes the company Dur Art Works
Creates arrangements in Japanese “Wa” style, centered around
her works
Works in the planning and production of crafts-making
1995 Establishes Nihon Miyabigoto Club
Conveys the beauty of Japan through this membership-based “school”
1998 Establishes Nippon-ya Kobo
Re-creates new works with traditional Japanese materials and
craftsmanship techniques.
